Michele Jones Bio

Michele Jones

My passion is helping people of all ages move better, to do more of what they love to do. My students describe my teaching style as intuitive and caring, gentle yet energetic, effective and motivating.

I began teaching fitness in 1984 to counteract the stress (mind and body) of my career jobs — transitioning from aerobics to yoga & yoga therapy to Pilates in 2008 because of a hip injury. I was quickly convinced that Pilates exercises - the safe and effective movements they provided - were key to helping anyone with greater strength, flexibility, balance and ease - spinal health from the ground up and inside out. So, in 2010 I certified as a Classical Pilates teacher, with rehab intention, to help release lingering effects of physical and emotional trauma. Or, to simply help anyone have fun getting active again.

I have and will continue to study and certify in many related modalities and Pilates styles to help you improve your core strength, balance and flexibility.

If you are new to Pilates, I will make it understandable and doable, so you are comfortable and successful, one exercise at a time. If you’re more experienced, I can help you deepen your practice.

I look forward to working with you in the studio.
